For our first educational meetup, this January 16th, we are planning a collaborative talk. Specifically, this will cover basic command line usage. We decided that it would be best to split this topic up a bit so multiple presenters can cover different areas or basic commands.
The talk will begin with myself discussing and demonstrating login, both local and remote via ssh. A few other examples were mentioned, and we are looking for volunteers to cover: introduction to permissions, POSIX filesystems and navigation, text editing, sudo and su, user creation and control, top and ps, grep, cat/more/less...
I could go on and on, but please, let us know what you would like to talk about or hear about in the comments below!
btw. We will have a projector to use and we are also looking at some online learning software with desktop sharing, presentations and many other features :) I'm stoked!
